Quality Management Coord - Quality Specialist Job

Description:
Full-Time Quality Position will focus on specific service lines at Rose Medical Center. Position Summary: The Quality Specialist is responsible for coordinating and supporting performance improvement activities to include developing and sustaining clinical service line quality initiatives according to the strategic plan at Rose Medical Center (RMC). Position will be responsible for implementing and maintaining clinical quality initiatives, including facilitating best practice initiatives, identifying and leading implementation for evidenced-base practice, and implementing/modifying processes to meet accreditation and regulatory compliance goals. The Quality Specialist works in conjunction with Medical Staff Chairs, Department Managers and Directors and the Director of Quality Management. The Quality Specialist initiates the performance improvement cycle when appropriate and is able to achieve improvement goals. Other activities include performing comprehensive review of medical records and care processes, communication with key stakeholders including hospital staff and medical staff, assisting with the compilation of data and reports, and presentation of findings. The Quality Specialist will provide education and training to managers and staff on performance improvement processes and opportunities for improvement, best practice research, regulatory standards, and findings of their chart reviews. The Quality Specialist displays positive support for the values and mission of RMC and performs delegated duties consistent with the scope of practice and functions within the philosophy and overall plan of care at RMC. Assists the director in consulting with members of the organization to meet compliance with all local, state, and federal regulatory requirements including, CMS, JCAHO and State of Colorado requirements. Reporting to the Director of Quality Management, this individual will be responsible for coordination of those systems necessary to identify, evaluate, monitor, and improve processes resulting in clinical excellence. II. Position Requirements: A. Licensure/Certification/Registration: As appropriate for educational training B.

Education:
Degree in Nursing, Health Administration or Bachelor degree in healthcare field or equiv combination of education, training & experience C.

Experience:
Hospital clinical experience preferred D. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Ability to function with minimal supervision, to anticipate tasks and prioritize assignments. Ability to manage multiple projects, analyze complex problems, and operate a laptop computer (fluently), word, windows, access, excel. Experience in performance improvement concepts and tools Experience in data analysis and statistical processes Experience in providing education and presentations Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing with hospital, medical staff, and regulatory agencies. Ability to organize and assist in survey activities for JCAHO and other regulatory or accreditation bodies. III.
