Description:
The IV Therapy Nurse supports the delivery of care to all patients. The IV Therapy nurse performs rounds on all patients with central access, and performs dressing changes on central IV lines. They will access the need for central line access to be continued and make suggestions for alternate IV access. The IV Therapy Nurse will evaluate "difficult" stick patients for PICC or other access. Data collection on central lines sites, etc. is also a job function. Performs difficult IV sticks and PICC insertions as needed. Must be able to stand and walk for considerable lengths of time. Must have the ability to effectively manage varying and unpredictable situations. The IV Therapy Nurse supports the delivery of care to all patients.
