Surgery Tech Full-Time Days Job

Description:
Full-Time 10 or 12 hour shifts. Candidate must have at least one year of Experience in the Main OR. Position Summary: The Surgical Technician will be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide assistance during surgical procedures performed in the department. The Surgery Technician is experienced in all aspects of aseptic technique, setting up the required equipment and sterile supplies as needed for their assigned cases; pulling cases as needed, breaking down cases at the end of the procedure. He/she is knowledgeable regarding instrumentation, equipment and supply needs for all types of surgical procedures. The Surgery Technician performs delegated duties consistent with his/her scope of practice and functions within the philosophy and overall plan of care delivery. II. Position Requirements A. Licensure/Certification/Registration: Current BLS Certification, Operating Room Technician certification preferred. B.
Education:
Graduation from High School/equivalent. Graduation from an accredited program for Operating Room Technicians. C.
Experience:
One year of experience as a Surgery Technician. Competent as Surgery Technician 107 D.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
Basic to advanced knowledge in the scrub role and responsibilities for multiple surgical specialties (i.e. Total Joints, Ophthalmology/Retinal ,Vascular, Neuro - to include carotoids, carpal tunnels, stereotactic work, Pediatrics, Major Orthopedics, Limb Pres). Demonstrates good organizational skills. Communicates positively and professionally with all internal and external customers. III. Degree of Supervision Required: Under supervision of RN, Coordinator. IV. Orientation Period : Minimum of 2 weeks contingent upon experience. Full-Time 10 or 12 hour shifts.
